Carhartt WIP

Carhartt, Inc is a US clothing brand founded in 1889. It is still a family business, owned by the descendants of founder Hamilton Carhartt, based in Dearborn Michigan. Carhartt was founded to produce workwear for railway workers. Its initial growth during the 1890s focused on the need for durable and hard-wearing clothing for this category of workers. Over time, Carhartt products developed distinctive features intended to extend their strength, including the use of sturdy yarns, reinforcing rivets at the points of greatest stress, and a range of high-tech materials that are resistant to flames, abrasions or water. The Carhartt brand became popular with consumers outside the blue-collar during the seventies and eighties, as streetwear spread: more and more people began to know this company when the big personalities of the hip hop music industry started wearing. Carhartt. Interest then expanded across Europe, leading to the creation of the Carhartt Work In Progress label in 1989, which targets consumers in Europe and Asia who appreciate fine details, although the design remains true to the way of being company America.
